I use Thunderbird 1.0.2 for my e-mails, and back when I used to use it under Win XP, I had this nice litte .wav that played when I had received a new message. Now, under Mac OS X 10.4.1 (on a mini) I have transferred this .wav to my Documents folder and set the path in Thunderbird (see pic), but the sound never plays. It doesn't play when I press "Preview" either.
It does play a sound however when I select "System New Mail Sound".

Does anyone have an idea here? How could I get my custom .wav to play when I receive a new mail? Thanks!!

Hi LeeLoo. I'm having the exact same problem. Have you figured this out yet, or does anyone here know how to fix it yet?

Thanks!

Nate

Yes, I've looked in other forums and I saw that it's a glitch in Thunderbird, as far as I know nobody is able to play a custom new mail sound in TB under Mac OSX. So I just stick with the system sound.
