no data on att

so my girlfriend broke her iphone. We are looking into getting it fixed, but if we can we are going to replace it with a cheap prepaid GO phone until she can get an upgrade next july.

If we do go with the Go phone, will att turn off the data plan on her number? I dont want to pay for data she wont be able to use.

anybody have experience with this?

If you're not using the iphone any more and you're using a different nonsmartphone cell you can call them up and have them remove the iphone data.
