No depth effect on lock screen on iPhone 8 Plus?

so I’ve tried many photos and wallpapers to get the depth effect on the lockscreen, but none of them work… Is this an exclusive feature for notched iphone models or something? I’ve tried all the photos linked in this thread:

but they dont work either? Is this just a bug or not a feature on iPhone 8 models?

Works for my photos on iPhone 12 Pro Max. See if it works on some of the default things.

I have an X and I can't enable the feature either. I think it is limited to newer phones that support advanced bokeh features.
