So, if there were to be new macbooks/pros to be released next tuesday, shouldn't :apple: have sent out invitations for the event? (i mean a design change is a pretty big deal---more so than ipods)!

They probably wouldn't give out invites all that early. That is assuming that Apple will let people post that they received an invite (the new rumors of tightening release leaks). And I know that it goes completely against all of the rumors that have been posted, but I don't see there being an update next week anything more than a spec boost, with the big new releases being at MWSF. But that is just purely my own speculation alone.

Funny how all those blogs/sites change their guesses/predictions everytime they are wrong. One day they will get it right especially if they choose everyday as a prediction. You are better off calling a psychic hotline for the release date.

It is possible that they could delay it a week due to the new Nvidia graphics cards that are to be released on the 15th. There could also be a delay due to the new manufacturing processes that Apple is rumored to be using.

it was said somewhere that apple would send out invites 3-4 days before. I think 9to5 posted that.
I don't remember an Apple event for which the invitations did not get posted on rumor sites at least a week before the event.

well apple is trying to cut down on the leaks, so maybe this is one way of doing it. I bet you could give the media the invites the day before and everyone is going to find a way to get there.

I'm thinking if these new nvidia cards have any association with the MB's, then the Apple event may be on a Wednesday (yeah, it's happened before), which would be the 15th that nvidia has dated their product for.

Just a thought. Maybe we'll see invites tomorrow or maybe it'll just be a silent release.

No invites because...

Apple is going green, and decided to have a web meeting instead. They can send the invites whenever since no travel will be involved. :D

No, No - the new MacBooks, MacBook Pros and Inivisible Aluminum MiniMacBook Touches came out an hour ago. Sasquatch and I are going to pick some up in the flying car as soon as Jobs and Jimmy Hoffa arrive through the Stargate.

There is no reason for Apple to have a press event just to show off new Macbooks. They would have an event if they had new Macbooks and some new software to show off, but this is not the case. The MacBooks will be updated the 14th, but there won't be an event.
