Hey

I just received my brand new MBA 2.0 from Apple Store, but there were NO FOUR FINGER SWIPE on it ? The 3 tech support guys I went through, were all clueless to what was wrong, they checked firmware, software etc... nothing wrong but the four finger swipe was not on my MBA 2.0

So I am getting a replacement, unfortunately now I have to wait again... Anyone else with this problem ?

I received mine today. Just checked, no four finger swipe here either.

FOR ME it does seem to be a hardware issue, and not a software issue. Since we have the same build number as US customers with working 4 finger swipe

FOR ME it does not seem to be a hardware issue, but a software issue, I think we got a "wrong" customized version of OS X, maybe that for the old MBA

A software issue is indeed likely. But is returning it going to help? The next one might have the same issue.

The macbook air has a 4 finger swipe? Never knew, anyways good luck on getting a replacement, also I was in between getting a air and a macbook pro classic or 2.0 macbook air, could you provide me with any geekbench tests or anything?

I just bought my new MacBook Air from the Apple Store Bluewater and it has no 4-way swipe either!

This seems to be a bigger problem than I thought, I informed the Apple Care about the many incidents but the rather punk-ass supporter said "you want my job ?", And I replied, Listen I'm just trying to help you help me..

So 3 different MBA 2.0 from 3 different countries, this can't be no coincidence

Hey you with the working four finger swipe could you please upload the Trackpad.prefpane and the 2 .kext files AppleUSBTopCase.kext and AppleUSBMultitouch.kext

OR at least provide us with your version of OS X mine is 10.5.5 (Build 9F2523)

Received my MBA 2.0 today. No 4 finger swipe, and i have the horizontal line issue.

Not happy!!!

I bought my Rev. B Air on Friday and 4-finger swipe works for me. I did do a clean install of OS X immediately (following the directions in the sticky posted in this forum) and applied all software updates that appeared afterward...

FYI,

The brilliance of Multi-Touch.

MacBook Air includes a spacious trackpad with Multi-Touch technology. You can pinch, swipe, or rotate to zoom in on text, advance through a photo album, or adjust an image. Or try out the new four-finger swipe. With this gesture, you can navigate up and down to use Expose modes or left and right to switch between applications.

Looks like the US models are fine, but UK and Japanese have issues as far as I can tell (UK for definite as I have one).

I did a fresh install from the DVD and the problem remains.

I just received my 1.86Ghz/SSD Air yesterday and the 4 finger swipe works well. I reformatted the SSD with the included OS X restore disc and the 4 finger swipe works well. No issues here, although I am in the U.S. I don't believe that we are the only ones getting the correct software.

Is your machine A/O.K.? I.E. no lines etc?

No problems at all. I have been stress testing it for a week now. Streaming HD video on my home network. Watching video online, watched the entire Sunday Night Football game no problems. I want to make sure it's worth the money since I'm upgrading from a 1st Generation Air. They seem to have fixed the heat issues as far as I can tell.

No four-finger sweep for me either, mine was delivered yesterday from the german apple store. (1.86/SSD)

No four finger swipe on my UK machine either, even after a clean install from the "Macbook Air" OSX disks. On the bright side, I don't have the screen lines issue.
