About 6 years ago I bough 2 tones in the iTunes Store on my iPhone. However for the past 6 months I haven’t been able to retrieve them under sounds in settings.

I’m wondering if tones can expire should the person that added it to iTunes decides to remove it. This sucks cause I’ve loved how long I’ve used these two tones. I see it available in the iTunes Store for purchase but don’t wanna our buy it again since I did already buy it years ago.

Also under purchased obviously I only get the options to view my
Purchased movies music and apps

So, I ended up purchasing a ringtone in iTunes app on my iPhone but I never got an email receipt that I purchased said ringtone.

I want to find a receipt or at least proof of purchase so I’ll have the receipt backed up. How can I find a receipt or proof of purchase?

Also, considering I purchased this 1 ringtone today, does that mean I own it forever no matter how many iPhones I upgrade to in the future?

Yep, same as your apps, have you checked in the iTunes app?

Your other ringtones might be hiding in the more section.

The weird thing is that I have purchased two tones before about 5 years ago. Admittedly I’ve switched to about 4 different iPhones since then but there doesn’t seem to be any history of me buying said tones.

Two days ago I decided to purchase two new tones and they now are in effect, but oddly enough I haven’t been charged for the tones at all. The apple site states the payment for both tones is currently pending; but my connected debit card doesn’t show any charges, yet I am hearing two cool tones whenever I get a call or text.

It may be that tones purchased a long time ago are no longer available for some reason.

The charge may be pending because sometimes Apple waits a few days to collect all purchases together into a single charge. You will probably see the receipt in the next few days.

Edit to add: one of the risks of purchasing through the iTunes store is that there is no guarantee you will have permanent access to your purchases. For example, I have a few albums I bought from iTunes over 10 years ago that are no longer available online. I still have them locally downloaded and they will restore from a local backup, but I can't download them online if I deleted them locally.
