So i wanted to change one part of my OS X kernel, but after eiditing it it says "Cannot save, access denied". so i clicked Get Info and changed it so i can Read and Write, but i still can't save.

It's a .plist file

Dare I say...

If you know enough to edit "the kernel", you should know how to make sure it gets saved correctly?

Not helpful, I know.

But you do have a very good reason for doing this, ya? And you're not using a Text editor in the GUI to do it, right?

which plist file? the kernel is "mac_kernel" in /.

do you know how to use XCode or know what these commands mean?

Code:
cd /

Code:
sudo nano mach_kernel

if so then use them :) if not dont touch the thing.

i just wanted to change the default fan settings for my powerbook g4 by a few degrees.

and im simply copy and pasting from someone else.
