Hi Guys.

I haven't seen or heard of any iMac leaks or speculations?
Had a quick look and couldn't find any related threads?

With the iMac about half way through its product cycle, it's strange we don't know anything that COULD even happen with the specs/design?

Thoughts? Maybe I've missed a leak?

Thanks!

Many people here dream of 2020 redesign but Apple is now on ~18 month upgrade cycle for iMacs which means that it is more feasible that there will be late 2020 or maybe even early 2021 release. The question is, however, what HW will they put there? Intel currently still runs on old 14 nm tech for CPU with 10nm nowhere in sight (I even read rumor that they will skip 10nm altogether and go to 7nm in 2022). So that means that 10th gen of i-core CPU will only be minor speed bump (doubt they will go with more cores). The only thing Apple could put into iMacs would be AMD 5500/5700 GPUs and I doubt that they will do it sooner than end of 2020. And that isn't such large upgrade that calls for redesign anyway. They even use R580X in basic Mac Pro config. So I think there are no leaks because there is nothing going on.

I appreciate the response.

if that’s the case then that’s pretty worrying for those of us hoping to get the redesigned version.

A 500nit 6k monitor bump would be nice too..

There's so many things wrong with this post I can't even..
High time for other reaction options to a post besides a like. Then a reply would not be needed here

Yea i saw that thread before i started this one, but that appears to be a light distortion. You can see the bezels dont match up with the chin in that video.

is there a chance of nvidia being back on the table for the imacs?
i think all the 4 bezels are symmetrical, see the post between us...its the same...now founded on Apple website

That's interesting, not doing anything too radical with the design is welcome IMO, but a couple of things I think they could have done is machine speakers into the chin section at the bottom so the sound fires towards you, and included FaceID up top (they should have room in a desktop design unlike a laptop) - Obviously can't say for certain the latter isn't there, but it looks like just a single camera?

oh wow. That Apple website link is really good, looks legit?

Are we expecting a 32" imac now or 27" smaller form factor?
Bigger screen sizes in the same form factors makes sense to me as they're not portable computers so smaller is of less obvious benefit.

For there to be "leaks", there first has to be something to "leak about"...

based on real world placement...it will be bigger than 27"...probably Apple will adopt the same routine as the 16" smaller bezels and bigger display, hoping with better and bigger fan and no more rpm hdd inside..that trash eat essential space inside

How can our eyes playing tricks on us when you have the imac pro with the "old design" next to it :)
I see what you are saying :) I suppose I just don't want to get my hopes up too high in the unlikely event that my eyes actually are lying ;)

That all sounds pretty good to me.
the bezels in the leaked photo still look way bigger than the dell professional 4k 32” monitors, but its a move in the right direction :)

surely the 5400 hdd has made its final appearance..

Thx finally noticed it :) Now if that's truly a redesign and not our eyes playing tricks on us...Release date, where art thou?
Those are just bad cut and paste jobs I think. And as far as leaks, I don't really ever remember any leaks to speak of before a major refresh for at least a decade or more.
