Hi,

My iMac 21’5 late 2013 doesn’t show the internal speakers, so no sound. But when I boot, the boot sound appears.
I plugged in my headphone, nothing. Sound on Airplay works.
When I press the volume button, this shown up(image). I am getting mad, please help

Can you check the System Preference => Sound to see the problem first?

Here's what I think is going wrong. I could be completely in error.

Did the 2015 iMac include an "analog/digital optical" headphone out jack?

By that, I mean did the audio out port have the capability to deliver a digital signal as well as an analog one?
If so, there is a small mechanical "switch" inside the port that switches the port from analog to digital (depending on the size of the plug that's inserted into it).

If this is true, I'm wondering if the audio out port is "stuck" in digital out mode?
That is, is the "internal switch" stuck as to be sending a digital signal out?

What you can do to verify this condition:
You'll need to turn the iMac around, and look into the audio out port. Or try a mirror.
Do you see "a red light" in there?
If so, that indicates the Mac is sending "live digital optical" out through the port (even though nothing is connected to it).

There are ways that might fix this without taking the iMac apart.
But we need to know if "the red light is on" first...
