There was a way. It's called nolockscreen

I was just looking into this again the other day. I had nolockscreen before upgrading and it was buggy. Now it rarely works at all on 6.1. Wish there was another option. A lockscreen on my iPad is pointless.

ScreenDimmer will also do this...after a respring. Not sure about eliminating lock screen altogether.
