The difference is Apple had their logo created before thinking they would actually enter the fashion business. I'm glad it's not showing. It doesn't have that iconic fashion brand aesthetic most successful fashion company logos tend to create.

I actually think it would make more sense to have any branding in the actual graphics on the display over any markings on the hardware.

I agree about not having a logo, but I also own a Rolex Submariner and I will also be buying the 42mm Stainless version of the iWatch.

Even though at 699.00, I think it's overpriced for what it is, I will still buy one the day it's released as long as it fits my large wrist.

No Logo?

The Apple logo is still there on the back but it's not big enough to splash it all over the watch face. I can't quite understand though why people would spend £100s on a Rolex which is a watch that's all at the end of the day, it is a designer make of watch admitably. I guess we will all by it just to say we've got one but like most iphone users you never know how good or bad it is till you've got one.

Let me know where you can get a Rolex for £100s... All the ones I've seen are in the £1000s and even £10000s.

Many watchmakers do that. I can't say I'm surprised Apple didn't. I remember Steve Jobs saying that he wants the Apple logo to be like Mickey at Disneyland, that there's only one at a time, to keep it special. This has been followed through with all Apple products (that I remember). Kind of weird that Rolex has it's logo on the face, crown, and back, now that I think about it.

You can only see 1 logo at a time ;)

Rolex is not a "designer watch", far from it.

Rolex is actually makes basic everyday watches and utility watches (really).

But they make one of the really best ones, actually.

Finally a Rolex doesn't cost $100's, more like $1000's...

I would imagine that Apple would eventually have a watch face choice that includes their logo for the folks who put the apple sticker on their car windows. I would have been fine with it if they embossed the logo on the Stainless Steel Link enclosure the way Rolex does but I do like the design they went with.

I am thinking that Apple is trying to be so distinctive that everyone will eventually see one and KNOW it is the Apple Watch like they can spot an iPhone.
