I have a Macbook Air, I'm not sure exactly what one.

When I try to start it a folder with a question mark starts flashing.
I open into recovery mode and in disk utility 'Macintosh HD' and Apple SSD doesn't exist

I've tried searching online but I can't find a solution

After searching 'diskutil list' into terminal the largest disk is a 1.2 GB partition scheme

Any help would be appreciated.

When in Recovery mode, do you have Disk Utility "View" set to "Show all Devices"? You may need to reconfigure the entire drive.

There is no view tab, only 'help' 'window' 'images' 'edit' 'file' 'Disk Utility' and the apple logo

It's not a tab in Disk Utility, but a button in the upper left corner. This would be under High Sierra. grab.png
