My father in law has a PC which he set up a wireless network with. None of my Macs are able to connect to it in the normal fashion. For all of them I have to use the network diagnostics and go through the whole thing to connect.

It's very annoying and it's a problem because my father in law just got an ipod touch that he wants to use.

Any suggestions?

Use your whistle until you get the right tone...

But seriously, go into system preferences>network to see if you have a green light on your ethernet and/or airport.
If both or even just the airport are live you'll need to enable the router to allow access from your Mac, whether that be through the router software, MAC settings, password, etc.

I have a DLink g wireless with software that came with it that I sometimes have to reconfigure to add another computer, usually with a setting called Add New Device.
