According to various articles, reachability is available via a menu option however i looked everywhere and i cannot find it. Is it going to be on future software updates?

The setting for reachability is indeed listed under accessibility settings. Maybe halfway down the list or so. My recmmendation is upgrade to iOS 11.1 then try it. I’m not certain it’s on lower versions

Thats what i did and now its there. It wasn't under the previous software. Only on 11.1.

once you enable reachability you can bring up control panel by using reachability, then go right above the open window an swipe down. Easier than going to top of screen and swiping down. Can easily be done with one hand.
