This problem is pretty widespread on the apple forums. This happened once late in 2012 and it ended up being a server problem for iMessages. Basically the service was blacked out while a fix was found. During that time, a restore wouldn't fix the problem since it was a server issue not a device specific issue.

It's possible that's the same thing happening right now. It's up to you. I wouldn't restore unless other people who are experiencing this problem got it resolved by restoring. Otherwise I'd hold out a little longer because its possible a fix could be coming soon. Up to you. Just telling you what I know. Good luck. Let me know what you end up doing.

great advice, I appreciate it, based on this post of yours I think I will hold off then, seeing that multiple people have tried restoring unsuccessfully. Its just so annoying b/c I send pics all the time and I feel I am now strapped. thanks again

You're very welcome. I'm just trying to help a fellow MR member out! :)

What device do you have? Have you tried sending pics on wifi only, LTE, 3G, or edge (whatever the CDMA equivalent is), etc?

Basically what I'm trying to figure out is...if you turn off cellular data, can you successfully send a pic on wifi only or vice versa?

I have an iphone 5-i have tried over wifi only to no avail, sprints network is so horrible in my area that I cannot send a pic over "3g", rarely do I ever get 3g, its a joke, i cannot even access the internet most of the time.

Ahhh ok thanks for the info. Man what a sh*tyy bug! I am so grateful I do not have this. I send pics and videos almost on a daily basis. If I come across a fix I will most certainly post it here for you to try. Good luck.

cool bro, keep me posted.

FYI - i'm on ATT...

So is Bitesms changing something on the phone redirecting how MMS goes out? And maybe the uninstall doesn't change it back? Like an APN or something?
Possible why reseting network prefs might fix this, although I havent tried..

Yea that would make perfect sense except this problem is happening on non-jailbroken devices too. It's possible they're 2 separate issues and on one hand BiteSMS is screwing up phones and on the other hand it might be carrier related. Only thing is, I use BiteSMS on an AT&T iPhone 4S and I don't have this problem. I'm using the latest beta version of bite. Have you tired using that to see if the problem goes away?

I would bet that this issues has several reasons as it seems to affect jailbroken, unjailbroken, bitesms, etc. It's possible there is a common link that just hasn't been figured out yet. That's my thought.

Strange. Try putting a backslash (/) at the end of that address...

Edit: I just went to the BiteSMS page and confirmed that the repo address is definitely http://Cydia.bitesms.com

I have no clue why it doesn't work for you. Only thing I can suggest is wait a little bit and try again. Maybe they're uploading a new beta version right now? I dunno. Sorry.

I don't know. I already have it as a repo. It seems to be working on my end. The latest beta version is 7.5.1. You should try again a little bit later.

Hahha that's awesome. Yea sorry bout that I thought you knew it was a repo. Let me know if this fixes your mms problem. Thanks!

I deleted bitesms for now and went back to stock app. Had to restore again to get the stock app to work. This is a big p.i.a

Bitesms needs to fix this but it seems they are just blaming other apps. Bs.

Just sent an MMS from my iPhone 5 to my wife's Motorola RAZR MAXX HD and it went through fine. This is on Verizon using the stock Cydia version of BiteSMS. Is the problem going from iPhone to iPhone (which would indicate an iMessage problem).
