No more 8 core Mac Pro?

    Just noticed Apple is only selling a single Quad Core or Dual 6 core Mac Pro's.

    3/4 correct. You can get also a 6-core model as an upgrade to the quad. You can buy 8-core MacPros from apple only as refurbs now, that's right.

    We got the 8 core (dual 4 core) refurbed last November. At that time though, they were selling new 8 core models.

    Point? Apple bumped the dual processor model from 2 - 4 core 2.4ghz to 2 -6 core 2.4ghz. So now you get the same speed of processors, but instead of 8 you get 12 for basically the same cost.....

    And yes there are still refurbs that only have 8.

    Still trying to figure out the issue in this thread?

    They 'adjusted' their line-up in June I think, during this WWDC conference.
