Because the company owned them and wanted them back - presumably to sell them or something.

Travel is being halted...(unless you have an office)
Overheard a guy talking with his Admin about a flight. it HAS to be the lowest rate, they are sending reports to VPs about any travel. The guy checked and the lowest flight is either early morning or late at night. and only a $20 difference...BUT he will then need to stay in a hotel an extra night. so it goes against the cost savings — but the flight still needs to be the lowest.

Silly.


So, I looked into the two options listed above. they are about $40-50 per month.
My wife is on a cell plan and in contract. I talked with ATT and got her on a lesser plan for the same benefits (same data, unlimited other stuff) and added in my bring-your-own Phone and it will be cheaper than going either of the above. This does NOT affect her plan or contract in anyway. Granted the other plans are unlimited/throttled but we can make do. and bump it up some with little affect on the overall price. and this way I can Port my old huber back...if/when my company decides to do that. and if they do, I get a $100 statement credit.

Overall not too bad.

and to the one saying I am whining, I was merely trying to see my options. I do think it sucks and is a "nut punch" as they could have said at the end of the month or something rather than in 3 days time. and on a Holiday week that some are on vacation.

yes, thanks for the reply. I tried to do a search for the "stop whinging" cellular service and didn't find it. so that doesn't seem like a good option for getting me back to a cell phone.

I was given three days to find a solution to a problem and asked on here thinking some people might offer an idea.

It does't seem like you have any real help to offer, not sure why you are reading this thread.

and, I did find a solution. I wrote about it a few posts back. My cube mate wasn't sure what he would do and we went to the mall to talk to a few cell places. One designer just received his new phone a couple weeks ago after getting approval. he too needs to return the phone.

I don't get it, if your company paid for your phones then I assume that you make decent money. So why go for some cheap carrier?

Most likely reason is because he makes good money, he doesn't throw away good money. And by cheap carrier not sure what you mean. Take straight talk for instance. They use AT&T,
T mobile or Verizon towers yet cost considerably less. I've been with AT&T for nearly 18 years I'm seriously considering going to ST. Unlimited everything 46 bucks a month. Why should I continue to pay AT&T almost double that for the same service? Granted your throttled after 2.5GB od data but you are @ 5 GB on att and I never come close.

decent money, sure. but our state is hiking up lots of taxes and fees. everything but pay has gone up considerably. And with a couple of kids, they suck some money away too.

I decided to keep my iPhone 4 (with barely working Home Button) and tag onto the ATT plan my wife is on. it was only a $15 addition each month. and I was able to lower hers and use a company discount of 16% so that is helping.
