On apple’s website it seems like they have changed fluoroelastomer to “high performance rubber”, and some bands like the ocean band is now made in silicone. I suppose this has something to do with the forever chemicals in FKM…..
Interesting change indeed.... I wonder if "high performance rubber" is just a marketing ploy to avoid using the now (rightly so) badly perceived "fluoroelastomer" term, but behind the scenes the same material is still being used...
More food for thought.... perhaps Apple is now using a new rubber material like "Polyurethane Rubber". The linked article clearly describes this material is PFAS free and one of the main applications is "high-end rubber straps"... it'd be great if Apple could be more clear about the actual material being used now.
