Hello.

I have a PowerBook 15 (the last PB revision), which has digital optical in and out. Does this mean that I can connect the digital out of a DA/AD converter straight into my PB? If this is possible, this means that I don't need a seperate firewire/USB "audio interface" to get sounds into and out of my Mac, right?

Unless you want to do more involved stuff like clocking your SPDIF I/O, nothing else is necessary.

i use the s/pdif out on my g5 for my d/a converter, but i don't know of anyone using the s/pdif in. if you get it working, let us know?
