My contract with AT&T is not up yet (bought my 3G in mid November '08 I believe) so I have to pay the $399 instead of the $199. I'm taking the early leap for the upgrades but also to get on track with Apple's updates. Now in 2010, if they release an updated iPhone I'll have mine for a year instead of 7 months so I won't feel as bad when I upgrade lol.
