No Network Icon in Finder

I am trying to see my Nework through my MBP, however I don't see a network icon in Finder.

Any clue what I am doing wrong? I am brand new to a Mac!

open a finder window, then open settings or Command , and tell ( finder window opens in "computer" and then go to side bar and tell it show computer)

then when you are in computer you can get on networks, but I only see if you need that if there are tons of macs
