No notification sounds, messages are coming in 12 hours later!!

So I exchanged my phone because I could not hear through the speakers. Now this new phone is not making any sounds when I get a call or text!! Yes I have the sound and haptics on! Plus I am getting messages this morning that were sent yesterday at 5pm. What the heck is up with this!! Please can anyone advise me? This phone is critical for my work use.

I restored it from the other phone.

Sounds like that is introducing the problem.

Try setting it up as new.

If you’ve been using iCloud to sync, everything (photos, passwords, etc...) will come onto your new phone once you log into iCloud.

The only thing you will need to set up are non-Apple email accounts and redownload apps. Most games use Game Center to save your progress.

I’ve had that happen in the past with messages and voicemail. Sometimes it’s the carrier. Sometimes it’s icloud system being wonky for iCloud messages. It’s never been hardware.

Before you set it up as new and lose everything, try resetting all settings. I was having notification issues and that fixed it. I took screen shots of all my settings screens before I did it so I'd remember how I had everything set up. The settings reset fixed my issues without losing anything but a few minutes of time in changing the default settings back the way I like them.
