all depends on where you're going? So where are you going?

Georgetown Law. The campus is at the intersection of New Jersey and Mass. Ave, a few blocks north(east) of capitol hill. I've been told that as long as I don't go too far either northeast or southeast I'll be ok, but apparently "too far" is like 10 blocks.

I went to Georgetown Law 10 years ago, and the area has changed tons. It is still close to areas that can be sketchy, but for the most part it is quite safe. Back when I went there, the area was a ghost town after business hours and on weekends, but it's totally different now. With Union Station on one side and the renewal coming from the MCI Center and the Convention Center on the other, there's a lot going around. Your biggest concern won't be crime, but that you're in law school. YUCK.

The Hill is great and the neighborhood isn't that bad if you stay closer to the Mall/Capitol side of things. Do you know where you're going to be living? Enjoy the city and take advantage of it as you can - you're going to be a little busy, though :D

Union Station is right there and a couple really good Irish Pubs....
