Just picked up a series 4, set it up but there is no update for OS6. Watch has 5.3.2. Any idea?

I am having the exact same problem. Just had to get a replacement for my series 4 with a new series 4. It will only update to 5.3.2. iOS 13.1.2 on iPhone X. Please let us know if you guys find any solutions.

Is the replacement having the same issue?

The replacement is the only problematic device. The previous series 4 updated to watchOS 6 without any problem when it was released. When I received this new series 4 it had an older versions of watchOS 5 installed. The only available update was 5.3.2. Tried unpairing, repairing, using a different iPhone, etc.

It could be an issue with Apple's servers right now. I'm trying to update my wife's S5 to 6.0.1 and its saying that 6.0 is the latest software.

I have a S4 with 5.3.1 installed and when I updated my phone to 13.1.2 the red update badge appeared. I checked, and got the message that 6.0.1 was available. While I was deciding whether to update, it suddenly changed to say that 5.3.2 was available, no mention of 6.0.1 anymore.

EDIT: I just checked again and this time 6.0.1 showed up so now I’m updating. It says 3 days remaining to download. We’ll see.

Spent an hour with Apple support. No luck. Told me to take to Genius Bar but it’s a brand new watch

I just wanted to say I have the same issue. Just got a new Watch 4 and have been trying to update it since yesterday. I got an update to 5.3.2 and now it says its up-to-date. Tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps, and then logged a ticket with Apple. They said they will look into it and booked another session later in the week with a technician to take a look.
It looks like a server side error since I have read other forum posts with the same issue in the past 24 hours or so.

My Watch (S4) was doing the same thing, see my post above. Then I tried quitting the watch app on my phone entirely by swiping up to quit from the app chooser and when I launched it again the 6.0.1 update showed up so I let it update overnight. This morning all was fine, except my main face, Infographic, had lost all its color and was displaying in black and white. It even showed up as bw on my phone, so I created a duplicate face and now everything is fine. Fingers crossed!

I’ve tried quitting the watch app, hard resetting the phone and watch, unpairing/repairing the watch, and pairing the watch with another iPhone runNing iOS 13.1.2. No luck with any. This may have worked for you but it is not working for the majority of us. Just an FYI.

Just opened my series 5 titanium and went to update from 6.0 to 6.0.1 and it says no update available. Any ideas?

It has to be an issue with Apple's servers. I've un-paired and re-paired, restarted both, quit the app numerous times, and nothing will fix it. I've set the watch up as new and still nothing. Has to be on Apple's end with the never-ending problems their software seems to now have.

Is anyone having this problem with a Series 5 or is it only series 4? I have both a series 4 and a series 5 watch. If I restore from a backup with my series 5 watch, I cannot get beyond 6.0.

if I pair my series 4 watch and restore from a backup I am at 6.0.1.

It could be something on their end more recently. When I got my s5 last week, right after I finished setting it up, I saw it telling me there was an update to 6.0.1

Mine said that too. Then it said cannot contact Apple Watch—try again. Then it said my S5 was up to date at 6.0. Strange.

S4 was on 5.3.1 a month ago.

I got the S5 and didn’t bother to update the S4.

Now someone wants to buy the S4 and the update I’m getting is also only 5.3.2.

They must’ve pulled 6.0.1 for the S4.

They've pulled it for the S5 as well because its not showing up for any new watch whether it be an S4 or an S5.
