I called MacConnection today, and my ship date has been pushed back again, this time to December 5.

Waiting 36+ days to receive my PowerBook certainly doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy about switching. Ordering a computer from Dell never took this long.

I was going to get a 15, but I dreaded doing the same waiting dance you're doing now, so I decided to front a bit more and get the 17 instead. I'm not the least bit sorry.

Unless you absolutely must have the 15 for portability reasons, or simply can't afford the couple undred more for the 17, I'd consider cancelling your order and changing it to something you might get sometime in the near future.

I was just about to take your advice. I went to MacConnection and added a 17" PowerBook to my shopping cart. It listed the availability as "usually ships in 7-14 days," so I bailed. That's even longer than they originally told me it was going to be for the 15". According to macprices.com, the 1.33 GHz 17" is in stock at MacConnection.

Wow... that sucks. Glad I got mine when I did. :/ Good luck getting what you want sometime soon!
