Glad Im not alone. The removal of the ability to pause from the button vs trackpad is so stupid. Pressing the trackpad without moving just enough to scrub forward or back is a nightmare.

No pause button on YouTube?

I noticed another problem today, using a controller to navigate the YouTube App worked fine until the pause issue popped up again, then all the button presses on the controller did something different.
For example, the button on the controller that I would normally use to select a video to play or pause that video while playing switches to skipping forward 10 seconds when the pause stops working on the Siri Remote.
The YouTube app is just trash.
The pause button on the UI was removed though.

I don't think it was removed, just a bug preventing it from working.

I just started getting pause-gate now. Wow google you have one job with YouTube: show videos.

They updated the app and it has been an absolute travesty. The menu takes forever to open up, you can't skip ahead with the side buttons, and it's just all around laggy. I would like to know who these monsters are that destroy perfectly good Apps for no reason. HBO was updated today and it's terrible as well. I can't skip ahead either. What a mess!
Theory: to get us to leave the ATV app and go to Hbo/Ytube apps outside of Apple??? Or on 'Smart' TV ( better web monitoring for ATT/Google)?
