Could some one help.

I've connected my 20" cinema display to my mac book pro inc firewire and usb cable, but the monitor fails to come on. There's no power light on the display just a black screen.

Macbook powered via 240 wall socket. Also the macbook has detected that the cinema display is there.

Did you plugin the actual DVI (video) cable? Is the monitor plugged in to the wall?

Ok I'm not afraid to put my hand up when I've goofed and on this occasion I've overlooked the simple if not the most obvious option. Yes the power supply.

I'm tired, feeling ****** and suffering from a dose on Man Flu.
That's my excuse.....

Thanks Fleetwood :)

No problem. I think I'm showing signs of the flu myself. Better be careful when quoting my posts or risk catching something. :D

Cinema Display Black

I have the same problem, except I DO have everything plugged in. I've a 1.25Ghz PowerBook and am trying to patch it to a 23". Used to work all time for extended periods in "clamshell" mode. Now, if lucky, I can get the monitor to come on once, but it'll never wake from sleep (the computer does, but the monitor is black). The computer does recognize the monitor, but that's it. Driving me crazy. I've also tried it with with a MacBook, and I'm afraid it's the same thing...infuriating. Any and all help appreciated.

can i ask you if you have any idea if the 23 inch cinema display from 2002 has a built in fuse of any sort? i have a powerpc g4 400mhz with a ATY,Rage128Pro which i had my display connected to via adc to dvi the problem is that my screen just went black and no power light, the strange thing is that when i take out the adc usb and place it back again the g4 will go to sleep then when i press the g4 p.button it awakes and the display is stiil dead. am running osx 10.4.11 and the screen was showing no signs that anything was wrong, i have have tried a hd with 10.3.9 and no luck so i dont think its the update 2 osx 10.4.11 and my card works with a crt dell screen using the vga connection on the card, i also have to cards which i tried but no life in the display, i opened the back of the screen took out the connections and replaced them back, it came on and then after 1 hour it just went off again
so am very confused to it be and i love my screen can you help thanks rover121
