No Pre-orders for white iphone

Just got out of a chat with an att agent and she said no pre-orders will be taken for the white iphone and I will be able to order it online or at the store the day it is released. She had no date for it being released. I would be interested in a couple of chatting with an agent and seeing if they tell you the same.
 
So is the best collective/communal educated guess so far that it will be thursday the 22nd or friday the 23rd?
 
they may or may not say the same. but fact is whatever they say is just a guess so no point. Only facts we will get is if steve announces something or it pops up for sale

Kind of what I figured but she seemed pretty adamant. I asked here when the white was coming out and she said there is no date, but she had been told second half of July. Which then I asked when I could pre-order it and then that is when she said they would not be taking pre-orders for the phone. That is why I wanted to see if other people got the same answer then we would know if they got told some information or if my agent just said something.

Yeah but that's specific to AT&T right? I wouldn't be surprised if AT&T isn't taking pre-orders due to the limited supply. I think the real question is whether Apple will be taking pre-orders via their website.

I wouldn't be surprised if apple preorders and AT&T does not.

I also wouldn't be surprised if there is no preorder at all.

We shall see in a week I suppose.

Yup. She had as much of an idea of what is going to happen as we do. Just a guess. Could she be right? Sure. Does she know what she said to be an actual fact? Nope.
 
Prediction:

(And this is what I've been thinking ever since the press conference)

No pre-orders. No reservations.

Phone will appear available for purchase from Apple and AT&T sites in time to ship at the end of July (30th, 31st, whatever).

That's when they begin shipping. Sooo... shows up on their sites on the 28th or 29th, probably.

In stores on the 30th or 31st.

That's all.

They seem to be very quiet about something that a good many people are eager for... possibly due to the "limited supply."

Once it's out, they'll go on about it all the time.

Apple like to screw with people.
 
Throw my guess in the pool as a no-preorder.

I say option to purchase will appear in a few days, shipping starting the 28th (wednesday), arriving before the weekend. Hard to say.

so I just had a quick online chat with an AT&T rep.. sorta interesting I guess..

me: hi, do you have any new info on the WHITE iphone 4???
rep: The white Apple iPhone 4 is not available for preorder at this time. We do expect it to be available at a later date, so please continue to check our site. It will be listed as soon as it is made available by Apple. We apologize for any inconvenience.
me: oh ok, so apple and your AT&T wireless website will definitely be taking preorders for the WHITE??
rep: Yes, it will be available for preorder in the future.
me: so it'd be fair to say that it should be ready for preorder soon, since apple did officially announce they would be shipping by the "end of july"
rep: I cannot make any promises, but it sounds like you are on top of it.
me: great! thx!!

I mean I hope this guy's right.. but at this point it just seems like they're all making ***** up and telling random lies to customers lol.. wth.
 
My guess is: The white iPhone 4 may come out on the 22nd or the 23rd or the 24th or the 25th or the 26th or the 27th or the 28th or the 29th or the 30th or even possible the 31st...

I'm bound to get one of the days right, the rest are just speculation...

No, really. AT&T workers know nothing. My aunt works for AT&T and i argued with her before the 3G came out about if the white was 8GB only or 16GB only. She kept saying it was 8GB and i finally made her realize she was wrong.
 
The white one will arrive within ten days, according to Apple’s own publicly laid out timetable.:rolleyes:
 
It's looking more like Apple will just have a "White now available" home screen on it's website. There's really no need to pre-order with such a limited supply.
