I've seen several mentions of the rainbow clock option on the iOS 18 Lock Screen, but mostly (perhaps only) in reviews from people who were running the beta ahead of release. On my 15 Pro, I do not have the option - the only color options are the grayish one that (IIRC) adjusts to the Lock Screen color, white, and a color wheel picker that lets you create custom colors. All the screenshots I'm seeing have many different colors under the size slider, but I just have those three, with all the font options. Is this something that got pulled from the release version, or am I missing something?

I mostly just want to try it, just to see if I like it. I tried the large icons and kept that; tried the tinted icons and kinda liked it at first, but didn't keep it; keep trying different combos of icons and day/night wallpaper options; etc.

It is there for me. I am on iOS 18.1 developer beta though so can't say for sure for the iOS 18 official release. I don't see why it wouldn't be there though. When I hold down on the lock screen and then go to customize, click on the clock, the third option from the left at the bottom for the different color choices is the rainbow color. It only changes the color for the time and nothing else, the other text stays white for me.

The third option from the left for me is a color picker - it brings up a Colors panel with Grid, Spectrum, and Sliders tabs (plus an eyedropper) for creating/picking a very specific color. I've tried tapping the icon, tapping and holding - nothing I do gives me the rainbow clock.

It seems the rainbow option is only available with certain stock wallpapers. Try selecting one of the new iOS 18 ones and rainbow should show up. Also works with the colour ones and collection ones.

Thanks to everyone for the help. Turns out that I get the rainbow option on my wallpapers, but not Apple’s Weather or Travel lock screens. Since I pretty much always use Weather, that’s why I wasn’t seeing it.

Mystery solved, in any case.
