Over the last year the longest time between updates was 9 weeks with the average being 6.3 weeks.

    So what is going on?

If you mean Apple for Aperture and iPhoto, I imagine they are up to their ears getting ready to launch Yosemite in 6-8 weeks. I can not blame them for not continuing to upgrade Mavericks to support to products they have stated will die off in early Q1.

No, he doesn't mean that at all.

Apple issue Camera RAW updates periodically and primarily to accommodate new cameras that appear on the market. This is independent of any updates to imaging software such as Aperture or iPhoto. Apple's RAW processing happens in a layer below photo apps.

Actually that was what I meant. Note I did not say update Aperture and IPhoto apps. The raw converter is an underlying service primarily for Aperture and IPhoto. In any case, we should not surprised there is slow or no more raw updates for Mavericks.

The OP said nothing about Aperture or iPhoto. Or any of the other programs that make use of Apple's RAW converter. Any mention of these apps in this thread is irrelevant.

Mavericks will be supported for a long time.

The OP was rather vague. No one here can say with authority whether there may or may not be an impact on the priority of RAW updates by Apple, and whether or not the demise of the aforementioned App(lication)s That May Not Be Mentioned :) had any impact. We assume Apple will continue to produce them. They are also independent of the Yosemite beta release.

Remember this is Mac RUMORS. Nobody knows. If you want more certainly I suggest using another company's converted. Pretty much everyone else gets them out faster.

Ye of little faith. Camera Raw Update 5.06 (10 new cameras) is available today.

Wow. They finally added support for the Olympus OM-D E-M10 after 4 months. My friend will be happy. I think he'll be using Aperture until it can't be used anymore.

BTW, you can keep that clock running for those using Yosemite: the 5.06 update isn't available for us public beta users. :(
