Watched the Live event and was left feeling underwhelmed. Other than changes to finishes, and very slight change to weight and dimension I cannot make a case to "upgrade" from AW09 to AW10. Feels like incremental refinements, nothing more.

Honestly the new design would’ve been reason enough. The lighter watch materials and thinner design make a big difference imo. My only problem is that they didn’t reduce bezels like I hoped they would…

Really looking forward to the day the watch has a seamless curved display all the way to the case and not some black border. Makes it look more dated.

Isn't that the case most years? Incremental updates? It's a pretty mature product. I'm sure Apple appreciates those who update every year but certainly there's no requirement to do so.

if you still have a watch with a blood oxygen sensor, why would you "upgrade" to one that doesn't?
curious if the 10 still includes the hardware, just disabled until a settlement can be made...

The non-gimped international versions of the S10 have Blood Ox, so likely it's in the Watch but disabled.

I checked the trade in value, it's $170 for a 41mm GPS series 9, so $229.

It's just under a couple grams lighter, or about 6% or so, and the screen has about 9% extra displayable area. Upgraded processor + screen for better off axis viewing, better sound. AFA features, has water depth and temp.

Otherwise no any other meaningful features. Sleep Apnea is listed as a feature for series 9.

So not nothing, but IMO not compelling enough to upgrade from a S9 for $230 + tax. My hunch is next year may include a more significant redesign (magnetic bands and whatnot), so I'm going to hold off for that.

If anything the bezels look larger. That was a big surprise for me too. I thought for sure larger screen with smaller bezels. My guess is when they had to cancel the micro led screens they had to scrap up a new design with compromises.
