The closet thing we have had to an snow day was an "ice day" and we had to come to school just didn't have to be here till 10. I don't think it will be getting that cold again for the duration of this period here in Central Texas and certain no snow. However, we did have a little snow (not enough to get out of school, or even make snow angel) a couple of years ago on Valentines day. So perhaps, but I don't see it in our forecast.

Last year, there was a wee snowfall, 1.5"-2" and it took people 8 HOURS to get home from where my wife works. It normally takes like 45 minutes to an hour with traffic.

We got about 8" here.

Last storm we got 19" of snow, we could have made it school...

if we had a snowcat.

About the same amount here Erik...

We could have had school. Stupid bus company is located at the bottom of a steep hill though, and if they can't get out, they call it.

i think in my four years of high school i only had one snow day. took about eight inches to close my school. they made you come in no matter what.

Pretty much the same where I went to high school. A close-by city of more than a quarter million people would have a snow day, yet our little 5,000 person town wouldn't (despite the fact that most people came in from gravel country roads).

As for snow where I am now, not so much. It only snows when I have to make a long drive.

In middle of nowhere CT., we picked up about three inches.

In Providence they picked up some strange, city slush. Neither ice nor snow nor slush -- just gray goo.

So, my 45 minute commute took me about an hour and a half. I was stuck behind a Canon Express truck for a good 50 minutes. It's branded into my brain now.

Just drove hom from Best Buy, and it's weird... all the roads have this gray goo. Slippery as hell though.
