Over the past week, I have been getting more frequent "no sim installed" messages on my iP4. Was 4.2.1/ 1.59.00. Update baseband and ios to 4.3.2. Same error. Went to ATT and replaced sim.....same error. Called Apple, and they said no prob, We'll ship you one out for Monday.

Now my question: I recieved my shipping notice that included the serial number. I wanted to find out when it was manufactured, and if it was a refurb. I went to this sight:
http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html

and here is what it said:

I have googled and Binged the heck out of it, and can't figure out what the J9 means. Supposed to be sight of manufactured, but darned if I can figure out where J9 means.

Hope someone knows, as I am a curious type.

Good that it a fresh build, and not some lemon. (i know, Apple refurbs are great, but factory new is COOL!

I had the same error, i opened my SIM slot, blew a lot of dust out of it and popped it back in and that solved my problem for good!
