I didn't get a sim extractor with my 5s ordered through Apple. ATT
Do they not provide them anymore?
I tried to use a paperclip and for the life of me I couldn't get it to work!
I had to dig a sim extractor out of an old 3GS box I still had around, thank gawd.
Is mine MIA or is apple getting cheap?

apple hasn't included those for awhile i dont think. I use a a pin needle or a sewing needle. You need those puny/tiny paperclips if you wanna use those.

Apple doesn't provive sim extractors with USA phones anymore. If it's an AT&T phone, it's locked to AT&T, therefore in theory, you wouldn't really have a need to extract the sim to put in a different one (other than a replacement sim from AT&T).

Seems silly, but that's the way it is.

DAMN!
I did try with one of those small paperclips..NO GO!
I guess I better hold on to that old extractor I have for dear life!

I was going to say, we still got the SIM tool with the 5 but that's up here in Canada so...there you have it.

I didn't get one with my iPhone 5. Fortunately I still had the one that came with my 3G :)

Canada and a most other countries still get them, the U.S. does not.

They basically expect most of us to be locked to a carrier and not needing to open the sim slot, it seems.

My iPhone 5 came with one last year.

I think if you ordered the "official" unlocked version they include the extractor. However that's not currently for sale. Since everyone is technically buying carrier models, we get SIM cards instead of SIM extractors.

Hubs and I wanted to swap iPhones so I needed to swap the sims.
Like nobody ever does that...huh AT&T!?

I try to attach a photo of my iPhone 5 packaging.
The clip is on the inside of the documentation bundle under the phone.

Maybe you just threw that away?

(Mind you, this is the iPhone 5, I have ne 5s yet)

Just looked in my iphone 5 box again as well and no, no sim. There isn't even the slot in the paper for it like yours. Maybe as other say, not in the US of A!

Haven't been included with AT&T iPhones since the 3GS.

I'm sure some exceptions in the US have occurred, maybe with factory unlocked phones, I don't know.

Moot point when SIM extractor tools are under $1 per box of 100 at any store.

Get the metal paper clips. Don't bother with the plastic coated ones, not stiff enough. The slightly larger paper lips work very well but regular ones work fine too.

I'm glad I saw this thread. We've got 2 iPhones 4s in our house, and two iPads. All have SIM cards. You'd think I have an "extractor" around but no. I did test out a small paper clip on my 4s and worked as expected.

I would have been pissed if the new 5s arrived and I had to run to Staples before I could activate it. My phone is unlocked so I'd imagine it may come with the "tool". I've had the SIM card in hand for a month in anticipation of the upgrade.

I think the sim ejector tool only comes with factory unlocked iPhone's. Not a big deal though, I just use a toothpick. :)

My iPad mini came with one. I have it in a safe place lol. But have used paper clips many times.
