I am very new to the iphone and unlocking/jailbreaking. I was able to unlock and my Tmobile service is working on the phone. However, I do not see any SMS icon or anything remotely related to text messaging on the phone. I have googled and search message boards and can't find the answer. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

What happens when you use the Spotlight search (the screen to the left of your first home page) to find the 'Messages' app? Is it not there at all? If so, something went wrong with the jailbreak and unlock and your only way to get it back is to re-do it. There's no other way to add back stock applications that I'm aware of...
