No sound after migrating profile

I used Migration Assistant to move my profile from my early 2011 15" MBP to my new 13" rMBP. Migration worked fine, all my data is in place, only problem is: I have no audio. Either in iTunes or online (Youtube, ESPN, etc). System sounds still work (boot chime, unlock sounds). I've done an SMC reset and reset the pram/vram just as some initial troubleshooting. Other than that, everything is working fine...any ideas on what else I could try? And yes, I made sure the volume was not muted 😀

And now, just like that, audio is working...weird. Something to keep my ears on going forth
