Hi!

I have a little problem importing MPEG2 clips into FCE 4.
First of all i bought the "QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component" from Apple. Now when i import a MPEG2 clip (i.e. from Prellinger Archiv) i don't get any sound (NO audio waves are shown!). Eventhough the clip plays in QuickTime with sound ...

I tried everything i know of to get the sound into Final Cut Express 4, but
i failed. Anyone here who could help??

Thanks + cheers!

so i got it to work with MPEG Streamclip - i used DEMUXEN.
but there are so many formats (i am confused!) i am not shure if i choose the best one. right now i used something that made 2 files called "m2v" and "aiff".

is that a good choice for FCE 4 or should i choose a different format??

cheers

I always use VisualHub to transcode from MPEG-2 to a format for FCE.

It has gone away unfortunately, but I hear that Handbreak will be adding the same features to transcode video files (right now, it just rips from discs).
