No sound in Quicktime?!

Suddenly I have no sound when playing movies (.avi format) in Quicktime? The sound is working generally as songs play in iTunes and everything else and I've tried restarting but it didn't work.

I am guessing that you do not have the proper codec's. If I were you I would download VLC player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) or Divx (http://www.divx.com/).

Quicktime is not always the best program to play .avi files.
I use Divx as my default program with those kind of files.
