No sound on earphones

Using Windows 7 on MBP, I found that even after the earphones had been plugged in, the sounds were still heard from the MBP's speakers. And I didn't hear anything from the earphones. 🙁

Could anyone kindly suggest how to fix it? Thanks 🙂
