So basically i have no sound outputting through the speakers on my MBP or the headphone jack. I tried restarting.

Here is a screen shot of what is looks like when i try to raise/lower/turn off my sound.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

There are at least three different suggestions in this thread:

1) Reset PRAM (and/or SMC).

2)
Use a [tooth pick] and insert it gently on the output sound jack and press gently downwards until the red light (LED) is off, then you will have sound again.

3)
Go into the folder Applications/Utilities & open the "Audio MIDI Setup" app. Make sure the Default & System Output options say "Built-in Output. Next, where it says "Properties for: Built-in Output" make sure the option for "Source" is "Internal Speakers".

i go to audio/midi set-up cannot choose anything and it say
"input not supported" and "output is not supported"

Go to System Preferences>Show All>Sound and then select Internal Speakers. By your picture it looks like you have Digital Out (S/PDIF) selected.
