No sound

Ok I brought my computer to work today to work on a project for my grad class during my planning period and it is doing it again. I turned on my computer and it is back at it. I wonder if something is wrong with the sound card?

The only other thing I can think of is to reimage your machine and start from scratch. Or maybe keep resetting the PRAM
