No Sound?

    Did you mute the machine or plug in headphones?

    It's gone like before 2 weeks or so!

    I meant right now. Is there no sound because the machine is muted or there are headphones plugged in?

    What are you using for speakers? On the Bose volume wheel, if you just tap the middle by mistake it mutes it...

    There's a setting in System Preferences called "Play user interface sound effects". If this is disabled, sounds such as Empty Trash won't play.

    Had to ask, it has happened before.

    Reset the PRAM. Command-Option-P-R on boot.

    I only have fn, ctrl and alt.

    option is the alt key, what type of keyboard are you using?
