it operates the same as on the X.

Where is the 2 pane preview ?

When I select the rotate it shows the account pane but when you select a message it goes full screen

It does not stay pinned. It just hovers over your current message. When you select a message it goes away

That’s the unfortunate way it operates. It no longer remains showing both panes. You have to drag in, select the email you want to view which once you tap on it then gets rid of the dual pane.
This then has to be repeated each time.

I honestly feel for you. I have no idea why Apple did not allow the dual pane to remain open all the time.
I had it on my 7 Plus and it worked brilliantly.

Personally, I always hated that pane being eternally open in Landscape view! It still remains visible in iMessage Landscape view and I wish that one would go away, too! Maybe I wasn't the only one after all. Sorry that it doesn't suit you; I felt that way before the change.

I guess to each is own. I prefer the split view and hope they bring it back in future software updates. Ideally, it would be great to have a feature to toggle it on or off to satisfy all parties.

You were probably looking for something like this I think. This is how it looks on my N9 but not on my Max :(

Are there any 3rd party mail clients that support split view on the iPhone XS?
