    Hi all,

Just got a MacBook Air 2009 (first gen) for $350. It was running Snow Leopard, but I figured I couldn't live without iCloud so I had to upgrade to Mountain Lion. At first, the installation was going smoothly until the very last 10 minutes, there was an error and my MBA kept restarting. I waited till the next day to see if I can find any solution on Google. Turns out, there is no startup disk in my MBA anymore so I have no drive to install the OS on. Is this a common problem? How do I fix it? I tried Lion Recovery and the hard drive appears to be just fine (in Disk Utility).

    Thanks!

Sounds like it's pretty bad. Wait till an expert responds with some fixes. Don't worry, we'll get you set up in no time.

Until then, use your 2010 MBP.

However, I recommend buying Apple devices from main sellers, like Best Buy, or your local Apple Store.
