Why in the hell would Apple not include tab browsing on iPhones? This is the year 2011 and we don't have tab browsing on our phones.... Other browsers you can buy have it, what the hell were they thinking?

Because having 2 or 3 tabs max would be stupid.

They could alway implement a scroll function to add more. This really pisses me off.

That's a very "Android" thing to do. Apple wouldn't do that.

Yes, put the tiniest scroll wheel between content and the address bar.
Half the time you'll be tapping the address, the other half would register as lateral scrolling for the web content.
Fail concept; please don't bring this topic up again.

    ^^^^What are you talking about?

You just swipe across the tabs, and they move. It works perfectly in Atomic Web Browser. There's no need for a scroll wheel.

Why would that be the max? I've been using Atomic Web Browser exclusively for almost 2 years, and you can have way more than 2 or 3 tabs. As the OP stated, you just need to scroll across the tabs to see the rest of them.

How can you possibly defend Apple on this? The least they could have done was make it an option- either tabbed browsing or page browsing.

I hate Safari on the iPhone and won't use it until it has tabs.

But adding a notification bar wasn't "Android like" at all right?

If it's an option, fine, but I don't want some stupid scroll bar on my small browser window.

That's the great thing about the App Store, their are alternatives. If you don't like, don't use it. :apple:

Same. Why would they make all of the changes to the iPad version but not touch the iPhones? That's complete bull ****.

Thanks to iOS 5, Safari on the iPad is now appalling. I would pay money to get rid of the new atrocious implementation of tabbed browsing. The old way (how the iPhone still works) is superior in almost every way. Please get this nasty desktop UI concept out of my mobile browser.

There's no need for a scroll bar.

    Here's a screen shot:

All you have to do is swipe across the tabs to see the ones to the left. If you want to add another tab, tap the +.

Also notice that I can browse in full screen mode without the status bar and that grey bar across the bottom of the screen taking up space. If I tap that little square at the bottom right, it even hides the tabs for an even bigger browsing screen.

Why would you want to have to input extra taps in order to see a page?

With the non-tab implementation, you have to tap the little square to bring up the pages, swipe until you get to the page you want, and then tap on that page to make it fill the screen.

With tabs, you just need to tap on the tab.

From any Android I've seen so far, the only similarity has been the downward swipe to activate. Honestly, if you think about it, that's really the only way it makes sense to implement it...

Oh well. If the iPhone screen ever gets larger in the future, you may get your wish.

I still don't like having that at the top (should be an option i guess). However, I like the disappearing bar at the bottom! That's pretty cool.

They took the idea straight from Android. What's the difference between them? Nothing. I've had a droid before and it's the same thing.

Not at all I love the notification bar. This other guy said they would be copying Android by adding tab browsing and the ability to scroll through tabs. And I simply said they took the notification bar from android. Which they did.
