No Turbo Boost in 2011 MBA?

So I would assume the 2011 MBA does not support Turbo boost? If it does then why has Apple decided to include the turbo boost in the specs of the 2012, but not the 2011?

I'm not sure they ever mentioned turbo boost speed for any laptop before today.

That may be an ivy bridge feature with the new chip

The 2011s had Turbo Boost. I'm not sure why Apple never mentioned the boosted specs before.
