No unlocked iPad?

There is no mention of any unlocked iPad on the store site. I was hoping that they did so I could buy one as a birthday gift for someone abroad.

Does anyone have any insight?

That's the trickiest of all scenarios.

I'd guess that yes, it could work. If the Verizon model has the hspa unlocked and mentioned to use around the world then I would think at&t would work as well, unless they specifically blocked it somehow.
