If not mistaken, I believe this was a big thing several months ago but I see all the VOIP apps for the iPhone still have a message that you have to use WiFi instead. Has Apple not gone through with VOIP over 3G?

That really sucks. I thought I read at HoFo that it was suppose to be available with OS 3.0. Looks like that was just a rumour. Then again, I get a Skype error when launching it now after updating to 3.0

    You heard wrong.
It can be done only when jailbroken.

I heard about it only being available on JB but when Skype came out for the iPhone those who had a JBed iPhone had problems with Skype then shortly thereafter, there was quite a bit of chatter not to worry cuz in 3.0 you would be allowed to access VOIP via 3G.

Is the Skype issue fixed on JB iPhones? Does Fringe or Nimbuzz VOIP work on JB iPhones?
