one thing I love about myApple ecosystem is the interoperability between Mac OS, iOS, the watch, etc.

but one thing missing is the Wallet app on Mac OS!

Apple, please add this!

Genuine question, what's the use case for Wallet on a Mac?

Biggest issue, would probably be tough to do in general as "breaks" the uniqueness of each Wallet/Apple Pay setup. Virtual card numbers are different across the platforms for same card(s) so problem #1 there. And passes, tickets, are tied to a specific Secure Enclave, similar to how cards work, so a Mac Wallet would probably break passes, problem #2. And more important, where/when available, things like ID cards, keys, access badges, etc. Don't want that leaking out of the Secure Enclave where it will be used, big problem #3.

MacOS Wallet/Apple Pay does "work" for credit cards but no matter the Apple platform, Wallets on them are not a replacement for card issuer's app re accuracy.

No NFC chip (which Wallet uses) so can't make payments at a POS. Not convenient as tough to use an iMac/Macbook at a POS. And iPad does not have Wallet either, which is easier to use at POS vs a Mac.

Don't see Apple in a hurry to port Wallet to Mac as will break security and has no real value add, especially since a bazillion iPhones out there and many (most?) of those users are not Mac users, so lots of work for Apple and no addition to bottom line.

You have the setting for credit card and address Auto-Fill in both Safari and System Preferences.

Since Mac do not have NFC capability yet, I don't think you can use your Mac to Pay in store just like the Wallet app on your iPhone.

There isn't a wallet app, but you can add things like boarding passes, loyalty cards etc on a Mac (in other words, there is an "add to Apple Wallet" feature which pops up) and it'll sync over and show on the Wallet app on the phone.

It’s there…sort of. System Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay. You can add your credit/debit cards there and use Apple Pay on supported sites. (You need a Mac or keyboard that has Touch ID in order to use Apple Pay.)

Probably the same reason most of us prefer using a Mac over an iPhone, larger screen, better controls (mouse and keyboard), better multitasking. I'd imagine it'd be useful if you have an Apple Card and/or another CC and want to record your transactions into your budgeting spreadsheet/program.

I don't understand how this is a problem? How is a Mac any different than an iPad or an Apple Watch?

They're not, they're just files, they're even synced via iCloud and at one point were blindly synced to your Mac. There'e even an application called Pass Viewer, which as its name implies, lets you view passes and add them to your wallet (via iCloud of course). Plus you can of course send passes via AirDrop or iMessage. And finally, Macs have secure enclaves as well.
And more important, where/when available, things like ID cards, keys, access badges, etc. Don't want that leaking out of the Secure Enclave where it will be used, big problem #3.
They're already "leaked" out whenever you open the Wallet app on iPhone. How do you think it gets displayed, or used? Not to mention that these aren't physically stored inside the SE, but rather encrypted with a key stored in the SE, the same way FileVault works on T2/M1 & later Macs.

My first inclination to have this would be an instance where I lost my phone, and with it, my apple wallet, tickets, boarding passes, etc. If I am traveling and lose my phone, but still have my Mac ...

but as one user pointed out above, there is limited wallet capability on the Mac, as it stores the credit cards

think of it like this: one great thing about having text messages forwarded to your Mac from your phone is a scenario where you lost your phone, and cannot log into accounts with two factor enabled.

this feature is a huge one for me

I also have Microsoft Authenticator on my iPhone, and after upgrading my phone, it literally took me 2 months to get back into my Microsoft account --because MS has no coherent ecosystem, the app broke, etc.
