Hey.

I had tvOS 12 before and was curious about the next version tvOS 13 on my ATV 4 HD. The latest beta is the GM and I thought, everything would be fine. Looks like it’s a mess like iOS 13 and 13.1. Very slow, buggy and a lot of issues. :(

My question is about the Apple TV app on the home screen. In tvOS 12 it showed the next episode of my TV shows on the home screen. And now I only can see trailers about movies I don’t care about. I have to open the app and switch to „what’s next“. Seriously? Why not on the home screen again? Like before? Any way to set that? I don’t want to see ads about movies I don’t even care about.

Same. And it’s worse for me because I use my HomePods as my tv speakers. I’ve turned my tv speakers off. So now these autoplay ads play with no sound because AirPlay. To be fair I haven’t updated my iPhone to 13 yet so my HomePods aren’t updated either. So maybe AirPlay works like we want it to.

Maybe  wants us to have our Home Buttons set to tv app and not home screen. For now I’ve put the tv app in a folder.

They always play with no sound until you swipe up to see it in full screen.

In the TV app you’re correct. But on the home screen you’re incorrect. Even if you swipe up you still won’t get sound.

No, it works the way I said. on the 'top shelf' it'll play with no sound. If you swipe up to see it full screen there will be sound. I've proven this to myself over and over. Not sure why it would work different for you.

Not if you have the TV speakers disabled, like @JBaby does. The sound plays, but it plays over the TV speakers. For some reason, on the Home screen, when playing one of these trailers the audio does not go to the HomePods but plays over the TV speakers.

Thanks for backing me up.

BTW, Arcade games don’t play sound either if your speakers are disabled.
